Ashley N. Johnson
Ashley Johnson is a business women, change maker and impact innovator. Recognized by the Huffington Post, Ashley is a highly sought after corporate relations and business strategist. Creating her own brand management and public relations agency ANJPR Consulting, LLC., Ashley has consulted with national brands to include AARP, BET Networks, Essence and Walt Disney World Resort. Her agency has provided corporate strategic partnerships with national talent and social influencers.
Ashley started her career in business development at Booz Allen Hamilton. Shortly after, she began her entrepreneurial journey in 2011, then later transitioned to integrated communications and marketing for AARP, the nation’s largest non-profit organization dedicated to empowering people to choose how they live as they age. Within her 6 years, she managed strategic partnerships, integrated communications & marketing, event production and consumer experience. Ashley also leads the AARP African-American/Black Employee Resource Group.
Ashley obtained her B.A. degree at Howard University in Public Relations minoring in Community Development. A zeal for knowledge and continuous education she later received her Master’s degree in Public Relations & Corporate Communications at Georgetown University. Most recently in 2020, Ashley received her certificate in Social Impact Partnership from Georgetown University.
Since 2011, Ashley has provided business strategy to local entrepreneurs, business executives, non-profit leaders and artist. For her service, she has been recognized with the National Association of Business Professionals Young Entrepreneur Award and Dale City Christian Church Multicultural Community Service Award. Seen on WUSA-9 and the Huffington Post, Ashley’s story of navigating entrepreneurship as a millennial right after college has inspired many.
Johnson is a member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce, and Black Public Relations Society. She has been a special guest speaker for the Steve Harvey Disney Dreamers Academy with Essence, Howard University, and Bowie State University.
